ALPIMA appoints new executive chair and chairman

ALPIMA, the portfolio construction and analytics investment service, has appointed Rafael Febres-Cordero as executive chair and chairman of its board of directors.

Rafael Febres-Cordero has been a board advisor for ALPIMA since January 2021.

Febres-Cordero previously served as a senior advisor and executive-in-residence to financial services organisations at Capgemini‘s digital transformation division.

He has also held several executive roles across Fidelity Investments, including Devonshire Investors (private equity division) and Fidelity International.

At ALPIMA, Febres-Cordero will work with Geoff Langham, ALPIMA’s interim CEO and chief operating officer, the executive team, and the board of directors, to provide product development and long-term business growth.

In November 2021, Langham was appointed interim CEO by ALPIMA’s board of directors after the death of Pierre Mendelsohn, ALPIMA’s founder and CEO.

Commenting on his appointment, Febres-Cordero says: “I am grateful for the opportunity to help lead ALPIMA through our next phase of growth, as we accelerate the business and help organisations unlock the power of portfolio construction and analytics. Pierre Mendelsohn built an incredible culture and team and I stand committed to honouring his vision and legacy as we continue to build ALPIMA.”

Michael Sim, board director at ALPIMA, adds: “It is incredibly difficult whenever a team loses their founder, especially a visionary such as Pierre. In Rafael and Geoff, I am confident that we have the leadership in place to continue to deliver the market leading portfolio construction tools to Alpima’s clients.”
